Well it is quite interesting listening to the Blogs and reading the online forums about gay and lesbian communities push for marriage. It seems when you get down to brass tacks with the opposition; generally the Christian Right, that most men find gay [male-male] marriages highly offensive. Probably because it questions the manhood of the individual, but when you talk about lesbian marriages, they seem to indeed not have as big a problem with this? But what is the real reason behind this issue? One gay activist debating in a forum and we will call him Tim states; Not lesbians though, probably because you get off on that.

The Christian debater then stated; I admit, that two women is a rather intriguing? I suppose from your head you think two-men are of interest? However, to more clearly rationalize this statement. I have never been threatened by a gay woman; many gay women think that the gay male fringe is out of control. Two women loving each other seems more natural to me. Two guys does not seem to go along with either nature or nurture. So, biologically speaking and philosophically speaking you are just angry for the lack of respect. People must earn respect. Tolerance, sure you can have that. But do not come to the table and disrespect and then start calling names when someone hands you your own mirror back.

The Christian was also talking about the forum debate, some 400 pages in fact of slanderous comments from both sides including the usual; burn in hell, you heathen man lover! and the other side with the proverbial You are just denying your natural desire and you are homophobic! It was quite distasteful all these negative comments really and all the discharge of negative hate, but it is interesting from a case study, exactly what the real issues seem to be.

One Christian stated; You appear to attempt to think you are making intellectual debate, but it simply is not so, as you have called me now a half a dozen things which are not correct. Name calling and weak psycho-babble not buying any of it. In fact it is amazing the level of intolerance the gays have towards the straight people. How dare they demand more rights and slander in such ways?

Well lets just say this is one controversial topic that is not going away anytime soon, in fact one has to wonder if these two sides will ever get along. Think on this in 2006.
